Load Shedding by KESC on Saturdays is a mystery.
Businesses are closed on Saturdays since 24th April. So the demand for electricity is reduced to less than one third of the weekdays demand.
Yet KESC resorts to load shedding on Staurdays.
Why?

Yes. This is not understandable. Also there two technical faults due to which there no electricity for many hours a day. This happens in every locality of the city. Their maintenance staff do not work.

Today, Saturday 26 June 2010, there have three outages of slightly more than one hour each so far.
People at the KESC helpline 118 always said that it was a technical fault, a feeder had tripped due to "over-loading".
How can there be "over-loading" when all commercial establishments, industries and so on are closed on Saturdays and the demand on the KESC is greatly reduced as compared to Monday thru Friday?
I asked this question. The chap answering the 118 call said they were not authorized to answer such questions, only tell the customer that the power outage is due to a technical fault.
