Load Shedding Timings
The load shedding itself is a HUGE inconvenience.
Even greater inconvenience is the way KESC keeps changing the timings of load shedding without informing customers that the load shedding time has changed.
Is there any explanation for this?

This is so idiotic. One day the power will be shut down at 9 a. m. the next day at 11 a. m. and then again at 8 a. m.
They should be following fixed schedules for designated localities and advertise those schedules on the so many TV channels available.
No one looks at such routine newspaper ads these days. Advertising in newspapers on their part would be simply a waste of good money.
The TV channels may run their load shedding announcement free upon their press releases if their public relations people are any good.
This is the least they can do, since by resorting to load shedding they are already causing immense trouble and financial losses to their customers. as well as the country

Not announcing load shedding schedules well before implementing them shows their attitude towards their customers.

The KESC keeps changing the load shedding timings.
When ever I sit down to study the light goes off.
When I call the 118 they don't even tell me what the problem is, why the light is off.
Today, 10 April 2010 the light went off before 9 am, came back after 10, went away at 10:38 by my watch and came back at 10:47
I phoned the 118 again and they said they did not know why the light had gone off and gave me a complaint number.

I think they change load shedding timings to take care of peak requirements of different areas.
They should inform the people of the area beforehand of the change in timings.
I am a stay at home housewife. Whenever the load shedding timings change, I have to change my daily routines according to these timings. The first few days of changed timing cause a lot of tension becuase I am never suire when electricity supply will be withdrawn.
