Just take the past six weeks on the average there have been four non-load shedding power outages everyday.
Whenever the K. E. S. C. helpline was contacted they informed us that a feeder had tripped due to over load and that power would be restored in 20 to 30 minutes.
These power outages are never less than an hour, sometimes even lasting more than six hours.

There are two interesting aspects to this.
1. The management of KESC is not ploughing back its income to keep its system properly functional. It is simply milking and repatriating it to outside Pakistan
2. The workers at KESC are a despicable lot. I have had to visit the KESC Grid Station off Sunset Boulevard during the past many months. I have found people playing cards, taking tea, engaged in small talk, watching cricket matches and listening to commentaries, reading newspapers, talking on phones, texting on cell-phones, sleeping . . .in short everything except working.
