Load Shedding has been going on in Karachi for ages now.
These days, the KESC also shuts down the street lights during load shedding after sun-down.
This callous attitude of the KESC is contributing to an increase in hazards of driving at night time as well as contributing to an in crease in traffic accidents in the city

I am one of those people who regularly complain to KESC about this issue.
They just don't care.
I am always told by the KESC Call Center people that the call is recorded and Senior Management listens to the recordings. I doubt if they ever do that. Not a single call has been returned, and the issue remains as it is.

I believe the same is the case everywhere in the country.
LESCO does the same.
Often you will also find street lights blazing away merrily in the datlights in Lahore, even on major and very bisu roads such as The Mall.

I have no idea what the situations is now, About four months ago I phoned the KESC about street lightss being on at around noon, and I was told that this was not the KESC's restonsibility. Street Lighting is the responsibility of the City Government and they switch them on and off. I suggested to the person attending the call that he talk to someone in the City Government and he said, he wasn't authorized to that. I asked him for the phone number of someone who authorized and he said he wasn't to give out phone numbers.

. . .he said he wasn't to give out phone numbers. This is what they to every query regarding any means for reaching their management. I have a suggestion of the KESC waala. If they are so shy of meeting customers, they should relinhquish their jobs to more sociable people.
