35 insurgents have been killed as security forces repulsed rebel attacks against two checkpoints in northwestern Pakistan. Two security forces personnel also died in the engagement. Three soldiers also were wounded.
The rebels attacked the checkpoints in the Orakzai tribal area early Monday with rockets and heavy gunfire.
The bodies of 15 dead rebels were found near the checkpoints in the villages of Shireen Dara and Sangrana. Sources said the rebels removed the bodies of at least 20 others who were killed.
The Pakistan Government launched a military operation against the Pakistani Taliban in Orakzai in March.

These military operations are right in their right, but the government should be doing more.
The public should be educated against extremism on a continuous basis, school syllabi should be screened of hate-promoting material.
