KESC Official on Facebook
The Citizens of Karachi should be thankful to Allah that even if KESC is not doing what it is mandated to do - provide electricity to them on a 24/7 basis at a constant pressure of 220 volts, it is at least trying to provide them some COMIC RELIEF with its page on Facebook:
www.facebook.com/pages/KESC-Official/171879877110#!/pages/KESC-Official/171879877110?v=wall
The trouble with comedy is that it is entirely dependent on the sense of humour of the audience. Sadly, I haven't come across anyone whom KESC has caused to smile in appreciation or gratitude.
It is possible KESC may be taking sneers to be smiles.
Some of the jokes found on the KESC WALL on Facebook:
KESC has 3,628 fans.
This number may increase by the time you see this topic, because KESC is putting across that it is an organization famously popular with and very dear to the Citizens of Karachi.
There are comments on that Facebook Wall purportedly by the Citizens of Karachi expressing thankfulness to KESC
There are comments on that Wall asking others to be appreciative of KESC, only Allah knows for what. I don't.
There is also something else about this Facebook KESC page. The damned thing is dependent on a little gadget known as a computer, without which AND a live Internet connection, no one can reach it.
The rub is that the majority of computers in Karachi work on mains electricity, which as we all experience daily, KESC DOES NOT SUPPLY, despite its contractual obligation to to do so on a 24/7 basis at a constant voltage of 220.
There is already a topic on this board pointing out street lights blazing brightly in bright daylight. I happened to talk to a KESC-Official I care not to name, at a grid station about this wastage of electricity in these days when KESC's Response Centre (118) will always tell you that the electricity generating capacity is less than the electricity demand, therefore YOU HAVE TO REMAIN WITHOUT ELECTRICITY.
KESC-Official nonchalantly, or should I say, brazenly, told me that humans work in KESC and someone somewhere must have forgotten to turn off those street lights.
WOW!
Does any of you expect monkeys to be manning KESC installations?
No?
I told KESC-Official that it does not require any rocket science to install photo-sensors at the concerned supply points, which would automatically turn the street lights on and off according to the configured quantum of ambient light (sunlight) available.
KESC-Official told me that I was talking about something used only in advanced countries, we poor Pakistanis could not afford such things.
Rib-tickler?
Please comment.
