The sanctuary is situated 600m above sea level in the Palghat district of Kerala. Anamalai Wildlife Sanctuary of Tamilnadu, Nelliampathy Reserve and Vazhachal and Sholayar ranges surround the Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary. The climate in this place is salubrious and can make one feel extremely refreshed and active. The temperature ranges between 38 to 21 degree Celsius and is open throughout the year.
