A threatening phone call to the Pakistan Navy Educational Authorities has resulted in the closure of the Bahria schools in Karachi some till May 6 others till May 9 2011.
Closure of schools has been intimated to students and parents via text messages from school administrations. Some Bahria schools are coeducational others are not.
Three Navy buses have been bombed by remote control in the past week.
Pakistan Navy has already stopped providing transport to students from home to school and back, and from school to examination centres for the BSE examinations underway in Karachi. Obviously this has caused financial and other hardships to students and parents.
Terrorists have been blowing up girls' schools in the Northern Areas for the past many years.
