Post Midnight Load Shedding Facilitating Crime

The country is suffering from power shortage and load shedding is necessary.



But could the Electricity Distribution Companies (DISCOS) explain why they are resorting to post-midnight load shedding.


Information available from Karachi indicates that car-snatching, mobile and purse snatching and other petty street crimes have shown a marked increase during the post midnight loadshedding periods.


Will the Electricity companies explain this?

hey i'd suggest you go to KESC's official facebook page and talk to them there about this. And i am sure they will be able to help you out. It's just that KESC doesn't want to bother people with long hrs of load shedding during the day thats why they have divided the timings into 3 different timings. Because if you come to think of it....load shedding is done 2 in the morning and day time and just once at time that too at different timings in different areas. They don't black out the entire city.

Nothing is farthar from the truth.



At night, when the demand pressure on the system is roughly one-third of what it is on the average in day time, there does not exist any reason for load-shedding.


Whether post-midnight load-shedding is purposely done to aid anti-social people or is an honest blunder may be debated. The fact that there is load-shedding post-midnight is there. Also the fact that loadshedding IS NOT needed during night time.


If you think of it, KESC resorts to loadshedding to save costs, and daily inconveniences millions of customers due to this inhuman approach.

Post mid-night load-shedding is not justified anywhere in the country.



It is also reasonable to believe that load-shedding late at night would be helpful to anti-social elements.
