KESC OFFICIAL has advised me via the KESC facebook page to “look at other cities” then criticize KESC
KESC Staff at 118 advises customers NOT TO COMPARE the performance of KESC with other cities.
Why should us Karachi people be concerned with what the utility companies are doing or not doing in other cities. If other cities people have problems with their suppliers they must be objecting too, and they should.
IT IS AN ABSOLUTE LIE THAT KESC IS FULFILLING ITS RESPONSIBILITIES. There are days when there is NO electricity for as long as 22 hours in DHA Phase 2. There have been 30 such days since 1 January 2010. Is this fulfilling responsibility?

hey, relax...... we all face electricity problems. And i am not favoring anyone here. But i think KESC replied you that, because they are trying to improve and are working hard. Didn't you notice, there wasn't any load shedding on EID. + everyone is in Pakistan is in a bad state, that is why it is a 3rd world country. So why not appreciate things around and help to improve our country rather than crying over it's flaws.

Sister taniaali
There are a few things I would like you to consider.
1. I am not a Pakistan resident. I am Pakistani by birth. Me and my family live in Australia. I am here on a Sabbatical Tour of Study, and Corporate Governance and Attitudes are among my subjects.
2. I know Pakistan is a 3rd World country. If extra efforts are not made, it will remain a 3rd World country or even become more backward.
3. The attitude of KESC as a service provider scores on the negative on almost all the parameters. Someone should be doing something to remedy this.
4. KESC itself says its responsibility is to supply Karachi and environs with electricity. Plainly speaking, it is not fulfilling that responsibility. There is no way ANY ONE can say that it is.
5. Regarding no loadshedding on Eid. I am surprised that you mentioned this. Eid has no importance except as as a thanksgiving day at the end of Ramazaan.
6. Ramazaan is the holiest month of the Islamic Calendar. I hope you will agree on this. KESC wilfully violated the sanctity of Ramazaan everyday. Sharp at Taraweeh time they would withdraw power supply, and then again shut down power at 12:30, making it difficult for people to get to bed, and then wake up for Sehri.
6.When a person or institution is not fulfilling its madated responsibilities and getting into other activities, it is indulging in khayanat. KESC getting into flood relief activities and sponsoring games without ensuring 24/7 supply of electricity to customers is khayanat.
7. KESC passes on the buck for its own incompetence to customers, saying they are power thieves and or defaulters. This is slander and defamation. Customers are neither.
8. It is KESC's responsibility to ensure that power is not stolen, not the customers. kESC has a vigilance department. What is it for?
9. It is also KESC's responsibility to ensure that customers use only the sanctioned load and not more.
10. KESC does not publish any data about defaulters. Why? Because the number is negligible
11. KERSC was supposed to invest another 361 million US Dollars in its system. This was part of the agreement under which management was handed over to the Abraj Group. There is no evidence that this amount has been invested.
12. KESC promised that it would bring an additional 450 MW onstream in November of 2009. It has not.
So don't defend the indefensible.

Rabeea they are trying. I know they haven't fulfilled their promises, but there are many reasons to it. And besides look at their good will. They are unable to generate electricity but on individual level all the employers helped the flood victims. And we can never be so sure who is behind electricity theft. If u think that all the bad ppl r in KESC then trust me KESC would have been the only problem of this country. But it ain't true alot of ppl are corrupt here and are doing all the wrong things. So how about we try a new strategy with KESC. How about we tell them that we trust them, let them know that if they say that electricity will be provided to us 24/7 we believe them. If they are trying to show a good side to us, lets just believe them and maybe then they can get guilty when they are cheating us.

Have had occasion to see HESC's current TV advertisements.
They are telling all their consumers that they (onsumers) are thieves, steal electricty, tamper with meters, and even have the cheek to ask customers to voluntarily join the community of "honest" customers.
Probity, integrity and business ethics are as foreign to KESC as its current management is foreign to this soil.
This evening, some one from KESC was telling us on TV that the system is obsolete and needs investment?
Well, whose job is it to invest in the system if not KESC's?
